This program explores the differences and similarities of four different groups that you will encounter on a day-to-day basis, whether these are your colleagues, clients or external customers. These four generations include: “Matures,” also known as “Traditionalists”; “Baby Boomers”; “Generation X’ers”; and “New Millennials”, also known as the “Generation Y’s” and the “Echo Boomers.” Each group works and thinks in different ways and there are different techniques that can be used to work as effectively as possible with each one. Knowing these differences, and using this to your advantage, is a crucial skill set to have in a changing workforce that will have more generations coexisting than ever before.
This highly-interactive workshop enables participants to review, discuss, and practice how to identify, engage, coach, mentor, and service each generation most effectively. It also emphasizes how to build a stronger team to manage conflicts in a multi-generational workforce that is diverse in nature.
This program is designed to teach participants how to:
- Identify each generation based on name, values, cultural context, and work style preferences.
- Discuss and practice techniques for engaging the different generations during interactions in person, on the phone, and in email.
- Learn how to build a more effective, multi-generational team with a strong foundation of respect for differences.
- Become more proactive in anticipating and managing multi generational disagreements and conflicts assertively and diplomatically.
